Materialise FDM Center expands: Sixth machine added to production capacity

Materialise NV : 07 March, 2005  (Company News)
Since its start up in December 2003, the FDM Center at Materialise has proven to be a big success. In 2004, 2225 FDM parts were ordered and produced i.e. an average of 10 parts a day.
The growing demand for FDM parts necessitated an expansion of the machine park, which consists of five machines already just one year after its inception.
Today, the FDM Center has acquired a fourth Maxum System with a build area of 600 x 500 x 600 mm (23.6 x 19.7 x 23.6 inch). This machine allows the production of large models in tough ABS plastic with water soluble supports.

With the acquisition of this machine, the FDM Center is once more able to significantly increase their flexibility and reduce lead times for the production of functional FDM models and small series of FDM production parts. By offering the possibility to order FDM parts online (through www.materialise.com/onsite), Materialise helps their customers to shorten the product development process and save money.

Materialise confirms the rumour that a new FDM Vantage SE System is on its way…
