Matrox Graphics Inc. today announced the Matrox MED2mp graphics card with two mega-pixel image and 10-bit per channel grayscale output precision, providing the medical imaging market with a rock-solid graphics solution featuring Matrox's world-renowned image quality, reliability and stability.

Incorporating support for 10-bit per channel grayscale accuracy from an 8-bit input and the ability to accept non-linear gamma ramps from a calibration device, the Matrox MED2mp outputs images in 10-bit grayscale on up to four analog displays. This PCI graphics card comes equipped with 8 MB of SGRAM and a 250 MHz RAMDAC per chip, providing crystal-clear images at resolutions of up to 1600 x 1200 on each display.

The Matrox MED2mp builds on much of the same proven technology of the Matrox Multi-Monitor Series of professional graphics solutions, which has made Matrox the recognized multi-monitor leader in the financial market. Matrox graphics solutions are employed at most of the top trading and brokerage firms worldwide including Reuters, Salomon Smith Barney/Citigroup, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch.

'Matrox has been a technological leader in the graphics industry for over 25 years,' says Mitch Furman, senior product manager display technologies, Matrox Graphics Inc. 'We are committed to leveraging our multi-display and graphics expertise for the specific needs of the medical imaging market.'

The Matrox MED2mp includes software to effectively run independent displays in either landscape or portrait mode and employs unified and certified drivers for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Matrox also has a dedicated support team to cater to the particular needs of the medical imaging community and to ensure a timely response to inquiries from Matrox MED2mp customers.
