With support for OpenGL in grayscale modes, and capable of driving all types of displays, the Matrox MED Series of display controllers brings advanced functionality and flexibility to the medical imaging market with extensive multi-monitor support, pristine image quality and robust drivers. Boasting the widest range of grayscale and color, resolution and operating system support on the market, Matrox MED Series display controllers are ideal solutions for medical imaging professionals who demand the utmost in flexibility, quality, software compatibility and product features.

'Matrox's display controllers are known for their pristine image quality and unwavering stability,' says Norbert Funk, manager business development medical displays of NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display-Europe GmbH. 'By bundling these display controllers with our new 2MP and 3 MP medical grayscale displays, we will be able to provide medical professionals with an exceptional medical display solution to meet their demanding needs.'

The Matrox MED Series of display controllers represents a top-to-bottom solution capable of a scope of display configurations for landscape and portrait modes ranging from two through five megapixels, such as the MED2mp-DVI, MED3mp-DVI, MED5mp-DVI and MED5mp, and includes a variety of grayscale and color models with analog and digital display support. Designed to meet the demanding needs of medical imaging professionals, the MED Series boards come equipped with Matrox's multi-monitor features, such as Multi-Pivot/Portrait, and the ultimate in visual quality and reliability.

'Matrox is proud to partner with NEC-Mitsubishi in bringing this medical imaging solution to market,' says George Rigas, medical product manager, Matrox Graphics Inc. 'The stellar image quality, 10-bit grayscale imaging support and hardware accelerated display features of our MED Series display controller boards, combined with NEC-Mitsubishi's 2 MP and 3 MP medical displays, will provide a feature-packed, high-performance solution to the medical imaging community.'

A European first, NEC-Mitsubishi Displays Europe is introducing two new grayscale diagnostic imaging displays during ECR 2004. The new NEC MultiSync MD Series consists of two models: MD 21GS-2MP with 2 mega pixel resolution and MD 21GS-3MP with 3 mega pixel resolution. Both models make use of the new X-Light Backlight System, a NEC-Mitsubishi development which allows simulation of both blue base and clear base X-Ray films by simple switching. In addition, X-LightTM provides long-time stability of the calibrated whitepoint. The NEC MultiSync MD Series provides either an 8-bit Look Up Table for DICOM compliance or a 10-bit Look Up Table to select 1024 values among 3061 grayscales.
