MIG welding machines provide performance and versatility
|
ESAB Group
: 03 October, 2003 (New Product) |
|
ESAB has launched the AristoMig 400 and 500 welding machines with a choice of user-friendly control panels that enables customers to specify the level of functionality required. Designed for use with the AristoFeed 30-4 and 48-4 wire feed units, the AristoMig models can be configured to operate with up to four feeders connected, allowing the user to switch very quickly between welding with different types or diameters of wire. |
|
At a 35% duty cycle the AristoMig 400 delivers 400 A at 34 V, while the more powerful AristoMig 500 delivers 500 A at 39 V on a 60% duty cycle. In typical applications the two models will be used for the production or prefabrication of high-alloyed steel components and structures. The operator can use cables up to 35 m long, which gives a very large working area without having to move the welding machine. Depending on the control panel selected, the AristoMig models can be used for MIG/MAG, pulsed MIG, MMA welding or carbon arc gouging.
ESAB's welding machines have a reputation for ruggedness and reliability and the AristoMig units are no exception. Nonetheless, the machines benefit from an Alutech extruded aluminium chassis that helps to save weight and the sophisticated but proven IGBT inverter technology ensures that performance and reliability are excellent. A further contributory factor behind the high reliability is the use of a CAN-bus communications and control system that reduces cabling.
Customers can choose between the M2, MA4, MA6 or AristoPendant U8 man-machine communications control panels. All are ergonomically designed to be user, friendly and the level of functionality can be selected to suit the application.
At the top of the range, the U8 is supplied complete with over 100 pre-programmed synergic lines and a facility for creating more. Furthermore, this control panel has a memory for storing up to 99 sets of welding parameters, and soft buttons give direct access to functions such as hot start, crater fill and 2/4 stroke selection. If a compatible water-cooled welding gun is used and the AristoMig 400 is equipped with the optional integral water cooling pump, the ELP (ESAB LogicPump) automatically starts and stops the water pump to prevent the torch from overheating and to reduce noise, wear and running costs when welding is not taking place.
For users require rapid changeovers between different wire diameters or types, the AristoSelector allows two, three or four AristoFeed wire feeders to be connected to a single AristoMig; the user simply switches between the feeders, with the power being fed automatically to the desired feeder. Other options and accessories include trolleys and remote controls. |
