Mouldable 3D reusable packaging offers greater protection from ESD

JSP : 24 November, 2013  (New Product)
Arpro ESDP is a mouldable complex three-dimensional, reusable packaging (dunnage) which is free from electrostatic and impact damage.
Mouldable 3D reusable packaging offers greater protection from ESD
Arpro ESDP can be used in electrosensitive dunnage applications within the automotive and electronic devices sectors. The benefit of is to extend the possible applications where its light weight, impact resistance and Electrostatic Discharge Protection can be deployed.

The new ESDP specification assures greater protection from electrostatic discharge with a permanent surface resistance of less than 107ohms, promoting rapid static decay to protect against sparking. Without specific formulation, the flexing of non-conducting packaging materials during transport can develop static charge potentials capable of the damaging electronic equipment within.

Avoiding such damage is of critical importance as it is often difficult to spot during initial testing, only emerging later in the life of the product (or vehicle) as early equipment failure and an increase in warranty claims. Arpro "particle size" has also been decreased by 25%, improving its design flexibility and enabling better packaging "fit" for complex components. Even a small percentage improvement in scrap rate can often save thousands in overall supply costs and contributes to a faster payback.

The automotive supply industry alone has thousands of dunnage systems in use specifically for electronic components and such reusable packaging typically outlasts the life cycle of the vehicle. At vehicle end-of-life, the dunnage trays, like all Arpro products, can be fully recycled.
