New EIZO medical displays supported by Matrox medical display controller boards

Matrox VITE : 03 June, 2006  (New Product)
Matrox Graphics Inc., and EIZO Nanao Technologies Inc., today announced that the Matrox MED2mp and Matrox RAD2mp display controller boards are compatible solutions for purchase with EIZO's recently-announced 2 MP RadiForce G22 and 1.2 MP RadiForce R12 medical displays.
Matrox Graphics Inc., and EIZO Nanao Technologies Inc., today announced that the Matrox MED2mp and Matrox RAD2mp display controller boards are compatible solutions for purchase with EIZO's recently-announced 2 MP RadiForce G22 and 1.2 MP RadiForce R12 medical displays.

With dual output support of up to 2 MP grayscale or color, analog or digital displays, the RAD2mp display controller board offers outstanding reviewing, assessing and diagnosing capabilities to the medical imaging market. Designed for review and diagnostic stations, the RAD2mp continues Matrox's tradition of bringing pristine image quality and flexible multi-display capabilities to medical workstations, and offers accelerated image manipulation and performance, and support from the Matrox Imaging Library software development toolkit.

The Matrox MED Series of display controllers brings advanced functionality and flexibility to the medical imaging market with extensive multi-monitor support, high image quality and robust drivers. Compatible with all display types and with support for OpenGL in grayscale, the Matrox MED Series boasts the widest range of grayscale and color, resolution and operating system support on the market, making it an ideal solution for medical imaging professionals demanding the highest level of flexibility, quality, software compatibility and product features.

'EIZO is happy to announce that its latest RadiForce G22 and R12 medical displays are compatible with Matrox's MED2mp and RAD2mp display controller boards,' says David Waletzki, vice president sales, EIZO Nanao Technologies. 'Both our medical displays and Matrox's display controller boards offer outstanding image quality and rich feature-sets to accommodate the most demanding medical imaging professional.'

The latest additions to the RadiForce family of medical imaging displays, the RadiForce G22 and R12 LCD monitors are compatible with the RadiCS calibration and quality control management software. With 1280x1024 native resolution across a 19-inch monitor, the RadiForce color R12 supports both landscape and portrait modes, and features a Super In-Plane Switched panel that diminishes noticeable color shift when viewing the screen from oblique angles. The viewing angles are 170 degrees, brightness is 270 candelas per square meter (cd/m2), and the contrast ratio is 450:1. The RadiForce R12 also includes dual DVI-I ports, accepting both digital and analog inputs, and supports separate sync, composite sync, and sync-on-green, along with analog signal types for compatibility with workstations and standard PCs. With front-button access to two DICOM preset modes corresponding to clear-base and blue-base film, as well as text, sRGB, calibration and custom modes, the R12 medical display offers the features and flexibility sought after by medical imaging professionals.

'Compatibility of our Matrox MED2mp and RAD2mp display controller boards with EIZO's new RadiForce G22 and R12 displays represents our commitment to provide a variety of solutions to this medical market,' says George Rigas, medical product manager, Matrox Graphics Inc. 'By choosing a G22 or R12 display with our medical display controller boards, medical imaging professionals are ensuring a superb image output and workstation stability. These new additions compliment existing EIZO/Matrox bundles to offer customers choices in price and performance, across various medical segments to meet their needs.'

The RadiForce G22 is a 19.6-inch monitor designed for CT, MRI, and CR modalities. Featuring a Super-IPS panel with 1200 x 1600 native resolution, the RadiForce G22 is available in both clear-base and blue-base options. An 11.5-bit lookup table produces a palette of 3,061 grayscale tones, of which the monitor can simultaneously display 1,024 (10-bit) tones. The G22's brightness is 800 cd/m2, and its contrast ratio is 600:1 for viewing in ambient light environments and dark reading rooms.
