Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. today announced four new additions to the IHLP family of power inductors, which now includes the industry's first such devices available with a 5% DCR tolerance for current-sensing applications. These new series have been tested and approved by major IC manufacturers and several other customers. |
|
With the lowest DCR/µH for their respective package sizes, the new IHLP 2525CZ 06, IHLP 2525CZ 07, IHLP 5050CE 06, and IHLP 5050CE 07 offer high-performing, space- and power-saving solutions for voltage regulator module and dc-to-dc converter applications in end products including next-generation mobile devices; notebooks, desktop computers, and servers; low-profile, high-current power supplies and point of load converters; distributed power systems; and field programmable gate arrays.
New devices in the IHLP-2525CZ series feature compact dimensions of 0.255 in. by 0.270 in. [6.47 mm by 6.86 mm] with the lowest height profile, just 3.0 mm, available in this package footprint. The IHLP 2525CZ 06 and IHLP 2525CZ 07 are specified for saturation currents ranging from 7.0 A to 60 A and for typical DCR values ranging from 1.4 mΩ to 97.7 mΩ.
Available in a 0.508 in. by 0.520 in. [12.9 mm by 13.2 mm] package with a 3.5 mm height profile, the IHLP 5050CE 06 and IHLP 5050CE 07 are specified for saturation currents from 14 A to 51 A and for a DCR range of 1.85 mΩ to 30.86 mΩ.
The IHLP 2525CZ 06 and IHLP 5050CE 06 offer 10% DCR tolerance, while the IHLP 2525CZ 07 and IHLP 5050CE 07 provide an industry-first 5% DCR tolerance. The inductance range for IHLP-2525CZ-06 and IHLP-2525CZ-07 is 0.10 µH to 10 µH. The IHLP-5050CE-06 and IHLP-5050CE-07 have an inductance range from 0.60 µH to 10 µH.
These new Vishay Dale power inductors handle high transient current spikes without saturation and operate over a frequency range up to 5 MHz. Packaged in a 100% lead (Pb)-free, shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz noise to ultra-low levels, the new devices are specified for an operating temperature range of −55 °C to +125 °C with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration.
Because these devices include a current-sensing function, they allow designers to replace multiple parts with a single inductor, thereby lowering component count and costs.
Samples and production quantities of the new power inductors are available now. Lead time for production quantities is 6 to 11 weeks. |
