New low-voltage analog switches combine low power, charge injection, and on-resistance

The industry's first analog switch family to feature 1.8-V, 3-V, and 5-V ratings for all devices, the new DG2000 series also provides outstanding charge injection performance, representing a typical improvement of 5X to 10X over competing devices.

By combining low-battery-voltage operation, low on-resistance, low charge injection and fast switching speeds, the new DG2000 series switches deliver faster and more accurate performance while saving power in portable and battery-operated systems including cell phones, test equipment, sample and hold circuits, and communications systems.

New devices in the DG2000 family include two single SPDT analog switches DG2001, DG2002), three dual SPST analog switches (DG2003, DG2004, DG2005), and a single asymmetrical SPDT analog switch (DG2020).

With the exception of the DG2020, which is rated for operation from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, the new devices are designed for low-voltage operation ranging from 1.8 V to 5.5 V. This low battery-voltage operation reduces power consumption, which in turn prolongs battery life. On-resistance values for the switches ranges from 7 Ω for the DG2002 down to just 0.8 Ω for the DG2020. Each switch conducts equally well in both directions when on and blocks up to the power supply level when off.

All six switches are built on Vishay Siliconix's low-voltage JI process. Each device features an epitaxial layer to prevent latchup, and guaranteed break-before-make switching action. Analog switches in the DG2000 family are TTL/low-voltage logic compatible.

Samples and production quantities of the new DG2000 analog switches are available now, with lead times of four weeks for larger orders.
