Matrox Graphics Inc., today announced that it will bring two new display controller boards to market; the new Low Profile RAD2mp and Low Profile RAD3mp, and will demonstrate the new boards at this year's JSMRM show in Otsu, Japan. Made for low profile workstations, the Low Profile RAD2mp and RAD3mp display controller boards provide medical imaging professionals with excellent performance, superb image quality and flexible multi-display options.

Matrox's Low Profile RAD2mp and RAD3mp display controller boards offer dual output support of up to 2 MP and 3 MP grayscale or color, analog or digital displays respectively, and come equipped with Hardware Pivot for smooth and accelerated portrait image displays. The Low Profile boards are also capable of driving various combinations of color and grayscale displays in stretched or independent modes, and feature Matrox's real-time grayscale processing technology, ExtendiGray©. For grayscale displays, one feature of ExtendiGray© is the concurrent execution of 8-bit grayscale applications alongside color Microsoft Windows desktop applications such as Word and Internet Explorer without any desktop artifacts. A second feature is the ability to convert color displays to grayscale.

'Matrox is happy to round out its product line with the new Low Profile RAD2mp and RAD3mp display controller boards,' says George Rigas, medical product manager, Matrox Graphics Inc. 'These new boards continue Matrox's long-standing tradition of producing excellent image quality and outstanding stability. For those medical environments where space to deploy a computer system is limited, a small form factor PC computer with a PCI slot that satisfies this criteria is ideal, and they can now be populated with a low profile RAD Series board.'
