PaleA.MGX wins FNAC competition
|
Materialise NV
: 13 July, 2004 (Company News) |
|
At this year's Salone del Mobile fair in Milan, our latest lamp design 'PaleA.mgx' - presented on the Materialise.MGX stand - was discovered by FNAC's* purchasing commission for decorative arts.

PaleA.MGX is a pending lamp designed by Dan Yeffet (Jelly Lab) and manufactured by Materialise.MGX using a rapid prototyping technique (stereolithography). PaleA derives its name from the Greek word 'paleo', meaning fossil, aged, Palaeolithic. Its ancient origin is linked to state of the art technology by which this lighting design is revealed. PaleA.mgx was produced in March 2004 and introduced to the public at Salone del Mobile by Materialise.MGX.
Materialise.MGX has won the FNAC design purchase competition in June 2004 with this design, which is a highly honourable and important recognition of this new product. FNAC's mission is to assemble a living heritage, a witness of the multiplicity of contemporary artistic expressions in all types of art. The acquisition policy has revolved around three priorities: attention to new creation, purchase of essential works by confirmed artists to constitute a significant unity, and opening towards the diversity of current international art.
Materialise.MGX was selected for its revolutionary creation of the first product to be sold on CD. The self extractable file from which the product can be printed and reproduced is given as a complementary item to the customers with the purchase of each lamp. |
