Polytec introduces new Scanning Vibrometer PSV-400

Polymer Group Inc : 31 August, 2003  (New Product)
The completely new designed Polytec Scanning Vibrometer PSV-400 represents
state-of-the-art measurement technology for the analysis of structure vibrations.
Polytec Laser Doppler Vibrometers are used to precisely measure mechanical
vibrations, quickly, easily and free from cross-talk or feedback problems. They
operate on the Doppler principle, measuring back-scattered laser light from a
vibrating structure, to determine its vibrational velocity and displacement.

Polytec Laser Doppler Vibrometers are used to precisely measure mechanical

operate on the Doppler principle, measuring back-scattered laser light from a

Scanning offers all the advantages of a laser vibrometer together with speed,
ease of use, laser positioning accuracy and comprehensive data processing in a
single automated, turnkey package. Users get a very quick, easily understood
and accurate visualization of a structure's vibrational characteristics without the
inconvenience of attaching and interpreting data from an array of transducers.
A Scanning Laser Dopppler Vibrometer includes a compact scan head, data
management system and powerful software for control of the scanners, data
processing and display.

The new PSV-400 series, which is based on the new Polytec Vibrometer
Controller Series OFV-5000 and the new high performance Single Optic Sensor
Head OFV-505, is designed for testing structures in the mm2 to several m2 range.
The PSV-400 covers vibration frequencies up to 1 MHz and vibration velocities
up to 10 m/s.

Scanning Vibrometer Systems are used for applications in the automotive,
aviation and aerospace industries, on electrical appliances or machines, and for
research and development projects.

The PSV-400 can be upgraded to the fully featured 3-dimensional Polytec
Scanning Vibrometer PSV-400-3D.
