After a period of laboratory and bodyshop tests, the manufacturers Peugeot and Citroën have given worldwide approval to Sikkens Autoclear WB. Sikkens Autoclear WB was launched. PSA is the first car manufacturer to approve the waterborne clearcoat for all its body repair shops.
Based on a unique patented technology, Sikkens Autoclear WB is the first waterborne refinish clearcoat not only to dry in just 35 minutes, but also appear white on the panel when first sprayed to make it easier for the painter to control coverage. Citroën and Peugeot are advising their networks to switch to complete waterborne refinish systems that match the waterborne paint used on-line in the automotive industry.
After a series of laboratory tests, workshop monitoring and an assessment of productivity and profitability, PSA was convinced that Sikkens Autoclear WB suited the needs of their bodyshop network. The manufacturers stated: 'The product enhances productivity without compromising on quality and therefore it is now recommended to our international dealer network.'
Waterborne clearcoats have been used on-line in the automotive industry for some years now, but the development of Sikkens Autoclear WB means that PSA can now provide a complete waterborne system for the after market as well.' stated Cor de Grauw, General Manager Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes. 'This new agreement is an official endorsement of the trust PSA has in our paint systems. We are very pleased that PSA has recognized Sikkens Autoclear WB in this way and look forward to helping PSA further develop its bodyshop program worldwide' he concluded. |
