Q-Sense Inc. of Newport Beach in California, USA has sold and installed a research instrument for surface analysis to the Department of Bioengineering, Materials Science, Berkeley University in California, USA. Q-Sense Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Q-Sense AB, Göteborg Sweden.

Q-Sense has developed and sells research instruments and sensors to primarily scientists within the disciplines of physics, chemistry, biology and medicine. The patented QCM-D* technology has gained worldwide acceptance through a scientific network of global opinion leaders, amongst them are researchers at Harvard University, Stanford University, Max Planck Institute and ETH in Zurich.

The QCM-D technology was developed at Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg Sweden and the company Q-Sense was established in 1996. Between the years 1996 to 1999 main focus was on technique and product development. From year 2000 the first generation research instruments have been sold globally and are today present in universities and industries in over fifteen countries.
