Borealis, the European leader in the supply of rotational moulding polymers, has developed a new grade in the Borecene range for thick walled and underground tanks.
Borecene is the brand name for Borealis metallocene based polyethylene grades for rotational moulding. The Borecene grades give improved mechanical properties and potential for cycle time reduction within rotational moulding, when compared to standard grades.
Borecene RM7403/RM7405 is specially designed to give optimum creep and stress properties. Borecene RM7403/RM7405 has a melt flow rate2.16 of 4.0 g/10 min and a density of 940 kg/m3, which combines good flow with high stiffness. Borealis can provide this grade in natural and black, both as pellets and powder.
Borecene RM7403/RM7405 is one of the few rotomoulding grades which passes the very stringent DiBT critical hoop stress test for use in underground applications in Germany. This test is particularly difficult for black materials, but RM7405 (Black) meets the requirements of the DiBT test.
The fact that both the natural and black versions pass the DiBT test further emphasises the excellent balance between easy processability and excellent mechanical properties which is a feature of the Borecene grade range. |
