RTP Company, a global leader in specialty compounding, has developed a series of innovative glow-in-the-dark precolored compounds. Available in a wide range of pastel colors such as peach, pink, blue, cream, and green, these compounds display surprising new daylight colors that differ from their color in darkness.
Now, designers can have more options for their products than the typical yellow-green or off-white hues. Colors range from deep blue, hot pink, bright orange, to vivid green and peach. One of the greens has a glow life that is ten times the current industry standard.
This unique combination of phosphorescent pigments can be compounded with elastomers, acrylic, polycarbonate, ABS, and polypropylene. Through this technology, glow-in-the-dark backlighting can potentially be achieved through secondary operations in certain resin systems. The effect is best achieved with clear or translucent resin systems.
The company expects a high level of interest for electronic and consumer goods, athletic and sporting goods, and safety equipment and signage.
RTP Company, headquartered in Winona, Minnesota, is a global leader in specialty compounding. The company has seven manufacturing plants on three continents, plus sales representatives throughout North America, Europe, and Asia/Pacific. RTP Company's engineers develop customized thermoplastic compounds in over 60 different engineering resin systems for applications requiring color, conductive, flame retardant, high temperature, shielding, structural, and wear resistant properties. |
