|
We would like to invite you to visit us in the Milan Design District 2003 at the occasion of the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, 9 - 14 April in Milan. |
|
This international furniture fair unveils the latest in design covering a full range of furnishings and styles and shows the best the industry has to offer in terms of functionality and comfort, creativity and innovative design.
It is here that Materialise is launching 'made@materialise'. A new label of unique, personalised designs that are made by Rapid Prototyping or 3D Printing techniques.
The idea behind this new service is the manufacturing of exclusive objects on demand. In other words, Materialise produces unique, one-shot designs by Rapid Manufacturing, tuned to the customers requirements.
The creations on show in Milan, are 3D printed lighting designs that create innovative effects when projecting their play of light. These lamps are designed by Freedom Of Creation, who are working in close collaboration with Materialise. FOC is a design research company, based in Amsterdam (NL), with an extensive experience in Rapid Manufacturing. Together with Materialise, Freedom Of Creation is a platform for designers from all industries who have ideas for 3D printed products and want to realize them.
The lamp designs presented are built at Materialise through the techniques of Stereolithography and Selective Laser Sintering, prototyping technologies allowing a virtually unlimited freedom of shape. The hollow structures and organic forms would be impossible to be created in any other production method. |
