Matrox Graphics Inc., today announced its latest line of medical display controllers, the Matrox RAD Series, including the RADQ2mp, offering outstanding reviewing, assessing and diagnosing capabilities to the medical imaging market. Designed for review and diagnostic stations, the RADQ2mp solution brings pristine image quality and flexible multi-display capabilities to medical workstations, and features accelerated image manipulation and performance, and support from the Matrox Imaging Library software development toolkit.

The Matrox RADQ2mp solution supports four identical 2 MP analog or digital, grayscale or color displays, from a single board. With maximum grayscale resolutions of up to 1600x1200 landscape, and up to 1200x1600 portrait on each display, the RADQ2mp board features multi-display capabilities for diagnostic or review stations, including wall-mounted digital filmless light boxes. Also featured in the RADQ2mp display controller is Matrox's real-time grayscale processing technology. For grayscale displays, one feature is the concurrent execution of legacy 8-bit grayscale applications alongside color Microsoft Windows desktop applications such as Word and Internet Explorer without any desktop artifacts. A second feature is the ability to convert color displays to grayscale. With support for multiple boards in a single system, flexible display configurations ranging from 4x1, 2x2 and 4x2 are now easier to install and support.

'Our goal was to bring the functionality from our flagship MED Series line into a single board in order to drive four 2 MP outputs simultaneously,' says George Rigas, medical product manager, Matrox Graphics Inc. 'The Matrox RADQ2mp display controller reduces installation and support complexity for medical imaging professionals.'
