Standalone 4U RAID subsystem from Advantech offers a high-performance

Advantech is introducing a new standalone subsystem, the RAID-6100U3, that provides high-density, scalable solutions for centralised data storage. Compatible with any standard Ultra Wide/Ultra2/Ultra 160 SCSI adapter card, the 4U system offers plenty of flexibility for users to implement CT and networking applications with numerous configurations, with the assurance of the highest degree of access to data.
Advantech is introducing a new standalone subsystem, the RAID-6100U3, that provides high-density, scalable solutions for centralised data storage. Compatible with any standard Ultra Wide/Ultra2/Ultra 160 SCSI adapter card, the 4U system offers plenty of flexibility for users to implement CT and networking applications with numerous configurations, with the assurance of the highest degree of access to data.

The RAID-6100U3 supports RAID levels 0, 1, (0+1), 3, 5, 10, 30 and 50. It is equipped with an Ultra 160 SCSI to SCSI interface, and provides data rates up to 160 MB/second. Back up in the event of any disk errors is well-catered for as the system also features hot-swappable hard disk drives (HDDs); enabling dynamic reconfiguration of the drives so that lost data is automatically rebuilt without the need for rebooting.

Users can also designate some of the HDDs as spares, enabling the RAID-6100U3 to automatically recover from any potential multiple HDD failures. In addition, Self-Monitoring Analysis Reporting Technology support enables the disk drives to perform predictive failure analysis on themselves, and thereby, to correct any problem before the drive actually fails.

An alarm board automatically detects and notifies users of any power or fan failure. The system can also be set to send alarm notifications to a remote host, or a pager via a modem, and to provide real-time and intelligent server system management.
