A new feature for TPUs has now been developed: Walopur® VPT 4300 U is transparent and rubbery-elastic and therefore opens up completely new fields of application.
The key characteristics of Walopur® films are its high resistance to wear as well as to oils, greases and solvents and also to the effects of weather. They have high mechanical strength and remain flexible even at low temperatures. The films are very durable and scarcely decompose at all. The new grade Walopur® VPT 4300 U extends the scope of properties offered by this range of films: it is transparent, has an even higher elastic memory (resilience) and is very soft, the Shore hardness being between A75 and 77. A vital fact with regard to industrial processing: the new grade is just as easy to use by all standard techniques such as high-frequency welding.
Rubbery elasticity and clarity for new applications
Air compartments in airbeds, or airbags in sports and leisure footwear require the material to have an extremely high elastic memory, as is provided by Walopur® VPT 4300 U, in order to permamently retain their shape. The new Walopur® grade even allows downgauging for these enduses.
An interesting option for museums, the electrical industry etc.: airborne packs. Thanks to the elasticity, strength and UV stability of Walopur® VPT 4300 U, valuable and sensitive goods can be transported and stored well-protected while remaining visible.
Transparent film can play an important role in quite a different field of application, too. As the film is UV light resistant, it can be used for roll-up doors and tent windows. And it also works well in fashionwear such as bra-straps and top-straps or for windows in outerwear, thanks to its elasticity and elastic recovery. |
