Precision measurement needs a sensor capable of delivering accurate and reliable readings of minute tensile and compression forces not only under laboratory conditions but also in the far tougher world of testing in industrial practice.

Kistler's robust Type 9217A... sensor satisfies this requirement, providing measurements of compression and tensile forces from as low as a few millinewtons. The rigid construction of the sensor ensures that it is resistant to lateral forces and has a high tolerance to bending moments, thus minimizing interference effects.

The new Type 9217A... sensor comes with an ultra-sensitive PiezoStar element and a measuring range of from 500 ... 500 N. Like the existing Type 9203.../9205.../9207... series of sensors the Type 9217A... has an M10x1 external thread and a front-end M3 tapped hole for force introduction. This permits a simple and flexible adaptation for testing switches, push buttons. plugs, springs, etc. as well as a general use for highly sensitive force measurement in research and development. The Type 9217A... is supplied with two calibrated measuring ranges (100 %, 10 %).
