Vishay Intertechnology, Inc today announced a 2-W, surface-mount Power Metal Strip resistor with a low resistance value range of 10 milliohms to 100 milliohms and tight 1% tolerance. The new Vishay Dale WSL2816 is optimized for current sensing, voltage division, and pulse applications such as motor controls and dc-to-dc converters in automotive, consumer, and industrial systems. |

The low resistance value of the WSL2816 allows systems designers to maximize available board space by using a single resistor instead of multiple higher-value resistors in parallel, or by replacing larger low-value resistors with a smaller 2816 footprint. Designers can also use lower-cost ICs because of the current-sensing accuracy afforded by the tight tolerance and low resistance and low RTC of the WSL2816.
Produced by proprietary techniques that result in extremely low resistance values, the WSL2816 features all-welded construction with a solid metal nickel-chrome alloy resistive element and solderable terminations. It is designed to operate in a temperature range of -65 °C to +170 °C.
Samples and production quantities of the new resistor are available now, with a lead time of four to six weeks for larger orders. |
