Leading sheet extruder Barlo Plastics launches BARLO SPC diamond, a multiwall polycarbonate sheet aimed at the conservatory and construction market. Many conservatories cannot be used during summer months, as solar radiation causes unwanted heat build up. The new sheet has a diamond structure and newly developed solar control layer to reduce heat build up.

BARLO CAST lumina has special light diffusion characteristics, which effectively illuminate the whole sheet surface as a result of light waves passing through the edges of the sheet. Barlo Plastics has launched BARLO XT 'Soft Tone' extruded acrylic sheet with the appearance and feel of traditional frosted glass, but without the limitations of size or weight. Barlo Plastics is now reflecting the demand for softer, more tactile surfaces because frosted glass has long been used in store design to give an exclusive, softer appearance to displays, but the risk of breakage has always limited its use to small units.

The new sheet material is available in Europe exclusively from Barlo Plastics. Spectar resin has been in the market for some time, but sheet sold under the Spectar trademark has not been available.
